The One Call Specialist is responsible for receiving, processing/clearing, recording and distributing one call notice and other notifications of excavation and/or encroachment activities. Determine if one call activity possess a risk to the Company assets, process ticket accordingly. Provide ongoing communication and technical support to the field. Maintains on going communication with One Call customers, ensures timely processing of all requests. Ensures timely processing of county notes, customer requests, and adjustments to mapping, facility additions, and adjustments to boundaries. Leads public awareness program. Ensures timely processing of county notes, customer requests, and adjustment to mapping, facility additions, and adjustments to boundaries. Assumes responsibility for on call One Call customers to include weekends and holidays. Assist in Damage Prevention & Public Awareness programs, Standards and SOP reviews.
Responsible for receiving, processing/clearing, recording and distributing one call notice and other notifications of excavation and/or encroachment activities.
Ensures appropriate response within required time and must maintain on going response with all One Call customers
Checks and verifies that daily work is completed, including prioritizing and assigning of work
Ensures timely processing of county notes, customer requests, and adjustments to mapping, facility additions, and adjustments to boundaries
Respond to 3rd party damage and complete root cause failure and report.
Train field personnel
Assist with independent investigations
Update pipeline maps and load into state one call system and update field personnel
Leads the public awareness program and attend Common Ground Allowance Meetings in the states we are present.
Stay current with states one call laws and regulations, train others on changes in the law
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
Associates Degree, 4+ years' experience in the Pipeline Industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong written and oral communication skills needed to interact effectively with the public and regulatory agencies.
Proficient use of computer programs, including MS Word, Excel, and AutoCAD.
Ability to provide direction by giving the contact specific instructions regarding future activities.
Ability to provide a high level of customer service by answering questions, providing accurate information, and responding to requests on a timely basis.
Ability to plan and schedule activities, including regular review and coordination of activities required for implementation.
Ability to define problems, collect incomplete and difficult to obtain data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to work effectively with periodic guidance and review by upper management. General internal policies, guidelines, and procedures are utilized.

Seeing: Must be able to read reports and use computer.

Sitting: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
Standing/Walking/Mobility: Must be able to stand use hand and/or power tools. Must maintain mobility to perform duties inside and outside of buildings. Major portions of the day may require this activity.
Bending/Reaching/Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to bend, reach, or stoop to obtain office supplies and operate office equipment.
Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Moderate physical effort up to 25 pounds.
Dexterity: Major portions of daily work require application of manual skills involving motor coordination and finger dexterity.
Must comply with OSHA Respiratory Protection guidelines and the company respiratory protection program which includes a medical evaluation and fit test to determine the ability to wear a respirator. Must be able to don appropriate respiratory equipment to protect the employee whenever respirators are required.
Work is typically performed typically a regular office with periodic travel.
Will travel great distances daily.
Light exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and flammable substances.
Light exposure to electrical shock, bright or dim lighting, wet or humid conditions, and extreme heat (non-weather).
Advanced knowledge of the operation of pipeline system.
3+ years related experience. Underground line locating experience preferred.
Will be required to drive long distances frequently encountering inclement weather and adverse conditions.
Will be required to work out of town requiring overnight stays.
Maintains a safe driving record and current driver's license.
Advance knowledge of Pipeline regulations including CFR 49 195, API 1104 and ASME B31 and their applicability to the pipeline system.
This is a safety sensitive position you will be required to pass a DOT Physical and DOT Drug test.
Must have a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record.
Must have ability to lift up to 25 pounds and climb height up to 60 feet.
