Manages all phases of turnarounds, expense projects and shut-downs from planning, scheduling, execution, and closeout to achieve business objectives in compliance with Refining standards
Stewards refinery’s evergreen plan for turnarounds, expense projects, catalyst changes and shut-downs. Coordinates extensively with multiple refinery functions (operations, inspection, engineering, capital projects, reliability, etc.) to ensure complete understanding of work scope.
Leads development of strategies for environmental/health/safety planning, contracting, procurement and project controls. Manages development of plans detailing work scopes, resource estimates, manpower requirements and schedules. Ensures quality of plans and work packages and compliance with Refining standards.
Manages turnaround field execution. Drives engagement to ensure team’s alignment with objectives. Identifies and resolves problems/barriers to achieving performance targets. Reports status to management on regular basis. Controls and optimizes resource (materials, personnel, contractors) deployment. Leads refinery’s Turnaround Steering Team. Ensures milestones are met.
Manages centralized planning and scheduling of routine maintenance program and expense projects. Coordinates work execution with Maintenance superintendents. Oversees development of resource plans and long-range schedules.
Manages tracking and reporting of turnaround and maintenance performance metrics. Assesses effectiveness and identifies areas for improvement. Participates in turnaround and maintenance work process networks.
Maintains requisite documentation. Captures and shares “lessons learned” and best practices.
Manages, develops and leads staff. Initiates selection, promotion and corrective actions when appropriate; accountable for fair and uniform application of personnel policies
Experience and EDUCATION*
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
Undergraduate degree in engineering preferred.
Minimum 7 years refinery or petrochemical maintenance or turnaround experience required with preference for previous supervisory, project or construction management experience
